Badgley Mischka Bride Barbie Doll

This chic modern bride takes center stage, totally contemporary yet wonderfully romantic. Designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka are known for fashions defined by romantic style and classic elegance. Opulent iridescent beading, rhinestones, and embroidery embellish the fitted bodice above the exquisite detail of a full skirt of satin-faced silk organza covering a taffeta underskirt. Crystal chandelier earrings with filigree details, solitaire rhinestone ring, and white headband and finally a white velvet evening bag and pearl-white high-heel shoes complete the lavish bridal ensemble. The Badgley Mischka philosophy dictates that every bride feel glamorous and sophisticated on her wedding day. Mission accomplished.

Sunshine Family Dolls

About Sunshine Family Dolls: The Sunshine Family were produced in the mid 1970s--a difficult period for children's dolls because production of nearly all play dolls had recently shifted en masse to Asia, and many dolls suffered from low quality due to the manufacturers' quests for lower and lower prices. Although the Sunshine Family dolls and accessories did not have the highest quality, they were charming and entertained many late Baby Boomer and Gen-X children for hours. The dolls were heavily promoted on TV.

History of doll

Ruth Handler watched her daughter Barbara at play with paper dolls, and noticed that she often enjoyed giving them adult roles. At the time, most children's toy dolls were representations of infants. Realizing that there could be a gap in the market, Handler suggested the idea of an adult-bodied doll to her husband Elliot, a co-founder of the Mattel toy company. He was unenthusiastic about the idea, as were Mattel's directors.
